celebrity skin is a relational project performed in the context of the public art exhibition Here there everywhere (coram populo), Viconago ( VA ).
The project is part of a series of actions in which the artist uses the pretext of taking a picture to engage the public . The act of photographing (to photograph oneself and to be photographed ) becomes thus a performative act that allows the artist to relate to the audience and vice versa.
In the framework of a village festival, the artist, dressed in an ironically provocative way, plays the role of a popular icon and invites the passersby to have their picture taken next to her.
Reflecting on identity, relationship, stereotype and self-representation, Mocellin creates through this exchange process, a a series of images that rather than self-portraits are memories of brief encounters.
